The 2022 TCIS Model United Nations (MUN) Conference
The 2022 TCIS MUN Conference was held on the 1st and 2nd of July, 2022 with the theme "Averting World War III - Issues Involved and Lessons from the Past." Over 100 students (referred to as delegates) simulated the proceedings of the UN Security Council and represented 10 countries - the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Russia, China, Ukraine, Iran, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Nigeria. Delegates debated on several issues bordering on Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the effects of the war on countries all over the world. At the end of the conference, a draft resolution was presented, debated and passed, calling on both countries - Russia and Ukraine - to immediately end all hostilities unconditionally and return to the negotiation table where all contending issues can be discussed and resolved through dialogue. The next edition of the TCIS MUN Conference will come up in June 2023, in Maitama, Abuja.

Career Week
Career Week at TCIS brings with it an opportunity for students, especially those in
Grade 8 to be counselled on career paths and life skills. This year’s Career Week for
students which was earlier scheduled to take place from 20th – 24th June, 2022 has been postponed to 19th - 23rd September, 2022. This change in date is as a result of the ERC exams running from 9th - 27th June, 2022. The Career Week is designed to shape the students’ perception of the global market and expose them to hands-on experience of what to expect while making their decision on a career path.
Elementary Student Council 2021/22
During this academic year, Elementary Student Council members organised some events such as Mufti Day and Movie Day to raise money for charity. On Wednesday, 15th of June, on behalf of our school community, they were able to send some foodstuff to the FCT School for the Blind at Jabi and also Hope
for Survival Orphanage at Gishiri. Many thanks to our lovely parents, Mrs Maryam Sadiq Umar and Mrs Adebusola Bankole who also brought additional gifts, Grade 5 officials from the Student Council Adesola B. Bankole and Suleiman Sadiq Umar, and some members of staff, Miss Pat Edem, Miss Janet Oyedeji, Mr
Innocent Waziri and Mr Isaiah Idowu for representing the TCIS community at both venues. We look forward to doing more for the less privileged next academic year.

At TCIS, we have an open-door policy and are always willing and available to meet with parents. However, we also expect all parents to connect with us via JUPITER and Google Classroom where they can find out what the child is learning, details of their attendance, homework, scores, and reports

Parent-Teacher Conference
Organising effective parent-teacher conferences can boost family involvement in your classroom and help promote positive outcomes for you, your students, and your school.
A parent-teacher conference is a great opportunity to:
- Share academic progress and growth based on classroom
- Observations, testing data, assessments, portfolios, and assignments
- Learn from parents or guardians so you can be better informed about students' strengths, needs, behaviours, and learning styles
- Discuss enrichment or intervention strategies to support students' learning
- Discuss issues that may be interfering with students' learning and growth
It is essential that teachers meet with every TCIS parents to discuss their child’s progress for Semester 1. You can still book an appointment to meet with your child’s teacher if you missed a previous appointment.

Grade 10 Cultural Day
The Grade 10 Students of TCIS, Abuja on 4th March, 2022 celebrated our cultural diversity as Nigerians.
Diversity is a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts, which include race, food, ethnic origin and colour, religion and creed, sexual orientation, age and ability, to name but a few.
As ever evolving creatures in an ever changing world, the innumerable aspects of our humanity - all our ways of being, knowing and moving through the world - are contained in this one concept.
